ŠTO JE CADENZA SHOWCASE?
Riječ je o projektu jednog od najpoznatijih labelova za minimal house i techno ali s posebnim naglaskom na organske i etno zvukove, a ne samo na suhoparnost i točnost ritam mašina. Osnivač ovog, sada već legendarnog, labela koji uvijek gleda u budućnost je svjetski poznat DJ Luciano. Ono što svaki showcase čini posebnim je da se radi o predstavljanju zvuka kojem taj label teži, a u ovom slučaju artisti koji će se predstaviti su DJ i producent Michel Cleis sa svojim DJ setom te živi nastup jednog od trenutačno najzanimljivijih artista s Cadenza labela – Frivolousa.
TKO JE MICHEL CLEIS?
Ovaj Švicarac, koji je, za nas, sretnim spletom okolnosti svoju karijeru psihologa zamijenio DJ pultom i svojim vlastitim produkcijama, svoj planetarni uspjeh doživljava 2008. godine singlom ''La Mezcla'' koji je do sada na Youtubeu poslušan više od 1.4. milijuna puta. Riječ je o singlu koji uspješno nadilazi svaki žanr posebno zahvaljujući kombinaciji kolumbijskih ritmova, španjolskog vokala, a to sve uronjeno u modernu house produkciju. Nakon što je Luciano čuo taj crossover singl odmah ga potpisuje za Cadenzu i time ga još više potvrđuje kao veliku nadolazeću zvijezdu. Uz Cadenzu, Michel Cleis izdaje i singlove za druge poznate labelove poput Strictly Rhythm, Buzzin Fly i Rekids. Ono što ga izdvaja iz mora producenata je njegov istančan ukus koji je izgradio, pored ostalog, slušajući i Milesa Daviesa, Johna Coltrainea pa i The Beatles, što mu je omogućilo da vrlo uspješno u svojoj glazbi povezuje prošlost i budućnost. Ipak, ako bi trebali definirati njegov zvuk opet se vraćamo na ''La Mezclu'' koja svojim perkusijama i kolumbijskim etno ritmom čini odličnu sinergiju s modernim houseom. Cleisov DJ set sav odiše takvim zvukovima te preporuke idu prema svakom zaljubljeniku u Cadenzu, ali i topli, klupski house općenito.
TKO JE FRIVOLOUS?
Kanađanin Daniel Gardner aka Frivolous je vrlo zanimljiv glazbenik, producent te inovator koji je za svoje live nastupe sam izmislio neke instrumente (Broken Ruler Music Box i Patented Electromagnetic Knife). Još je zanimljiviji njegov zvuk koji se može opisati kao da se Bob Dylan okreće elektronici ili pak Tom Waits kako surađuje s techno legendama poput Juana Atkinsa ili Derricka Maya. Ovaj osebujni glazbenik iza sebe ima dva albuma, a treći, koji je izašao za Cadenzu, će vjerojatno biti i predstavljen u live nastupu. Kada su ga pitali kakvu glazbu po njegovom mišljenju on stvara odgovorio je da je to jazz s elementima moderne house i techno produkcije, ali i s utjecajima mnogih drugih glazbenih žanrova uključujući i sasvim oprečne stilove poput punka i ravea. O njegovim live nastupima bruji pola Europe, a prilika za takvo nešto čuti u Sirupu se jednostavno ne propušta.

WHAT IS CADENZA SHOWCASE?
It is a project of one of the most famous labels for minimal house and techno but with one ear open to organic and ethno sounds, and not only to the perfect precision of cold machines. The founder of this, now legendary, label which always looks to the future is the world famous DJ Luciano. What every showcase makes special is that it is all about the label's unique sound to which it aspires, and in this case we will see performances by DJ and producer Michel Cleis with his DJ set and a live act of one of the most interesting artists from Cadenza label – Frivolous.
WHO IS MICHEL CLEIS?
This Swiss born, who, luckily for us, turned from his career as a psychologist to the DJing and his own productions and attained planetary success in 2008 with a single called ''La Mezcla''. This track has been listened to on Youtube for over than 1.4 million times. At the same time, this single manages to surpass the usual genre with its combination of Colombian rhythms, Spanish vocal, and all that immersed into a modern house production. After Luciano heard this crossover single he immediately signed him for Cadenza and made him a big star in the making. Apart from Cadenza, Michel Cleis releases singles for other famous labels like Strictly Rhythm, Buzzin Fly or Rekids.What makes him different from other producers is his wide-range taste which he acquired listening to, apart from others, Miles Davies, John Coltraine, even The Beatles, which enabled him to join in his music, the past and the future, traditional and modern. If we could define his sound we have to get back to ''La Mezcla'' which with its percussions and Colombian ethno rhythms makes a great synergy with modern house. His DJ sets are full of these sounds, and if you love Cadenza and softer side of house, you will love him too.
WHO IS FRIVOLOUS?
Canadian Daniel Gardner aka Frivolous is a very interesting musician, producer and an innovator who for his live performances invented his own instruments like Broken Ruler Music Box and Patented Electromagnetic Knife. What is even more interesting is his sound which could be described as Bob Dylan turning electronic or Tom Waits cooperating with techno legends like Juan Atkins or Derrick May. Frivolous released 2 albums, and the third one for Cadenza will probably be performed during the live act. When asked what kind of music he makes he said that it is jazz with elements of house and techno but also with influences of totally different styles such as punk or rave. His live performances are the talk of half of Europe so the chance to see him live is not to be missed.

In only 2 years this club has become the leading in this area because it hosted some of the biggest DJ names in the business.
